Fusion Taps Margarita Noriega to Oversee Social Media Efforts

MAY 16, 2014 – Fusion’s Chief Digital Officer Daniel Eilemberg today named Margarita Noriega Director of Social Media for Fusion. In her new role, Margarita will work with the digital team as well as the show production units to amplify the reach of the Fusion brand across all social media platforms.
This is the latest hire the network has made to its digital and social media teams in recent weeks – YouTube and Upworthy veteran Hong Qu joined Fusion as Chief Technology Officer; renowned blogger Felix Salmon named Senior Editor; Mariana Santos to oversee interactive storytelling unit; Danilo Lauria to lead micro-video efforts.
“Millennials were born into a new era of technology, and have come of age during the rise of Facebook and Twitter. I am excited about our growing team… and believe Fusion will capitalize on this extraordinary opportunity to build a media brand finely attuned to this generation’s digital tendencies,” Eilemberg said in an email to staff.
Most exciting bit: @margafret has promised to do actual reporting with her social media team, not just linking to other people’s work
