FUSION 420/360 – Fusion to Air Special Day of Programming on April 20
Fusion will air a special day of programming, ’Fusion 420/360,’ on Sunday, April 20 beginning at 12:00 p.m., ET. Throughout the day Fusion will examine the cultural, economic, and medicinal relevance of marijuana in America with special editions of “AMERICA with Jorge Ramos,” “Open Source with Leon Krauze,” and “Strange Medicine.” Fusion’s Chief Cannabis Correspondent Ryan Nerz will host three editions of “The Cannabusiness Report."
In addition, Paul F. Tompkins and the "No, You Shut Up!” panel will take a satirical look at the many issues surrounding the legalization of pot with special guest, comedian Doug Benson. Fusion will also air cult film “Reefer Madness” with special commentary by Ryan Nerz and Fusion producer Omar Michaud.Details on the days programming below –
- “The Cannabusiness Report" – Fusion’s Chief Cannabis Correspondent, Ryan Nerz, introduces several slices of American marijuana culture. He interviews Irv Rosenfeld, who gets 300 joints per month from the federal government, analyzes the cannabis “wax” craze, shows how marijuana use affects driving skills, and interviews the stoner comedy duo, Cheech & Chong.
- ”The Cannabusiness Report: Los Angeles“ – Nerz, goes to sunny Los Angeles, America’s medical marijuana Mecca for almost two decades now. He enrolls in cannabis college, attempts weed-infused spirituality at a “420 Yoga” class, learns the history of the best pot strains at The Cannabis Cup, and interviews hip hop star and noted weed enthusiast, B.o.B..
- ”The Cannabusiness Report: Denver“ – Fusion’s Chief Cannabis Correspondent Ryan Nerz takes us to Denver, Colorado, in the wake of landmark legislation that allows everyone over the age of 21 to buy weed at retail stores. He talks to a dispensary security guard as well as masked black market weed growers, visits a veterinarian who explains why pets are getting into pot, and interviews hip hop’s high priest of pot, Wiz Khalifa, in a segment called – appropriately – The Green Room.
- ”America with Jorge Ramos“ – Jorge Ramos interviews former NYPD Comissioner Ray Kelly, "AMERICA” travels to Uruguay to see how marijuana is being regulated after its groundbreaking legalization, and explores the growing cannabis tourism in Colorado.
- “Open Source with Leon Krauze" – Fusion’s Leon Krauze delves into how pot is affecting American culture. He talks to a marijuana refugee and meet the Cannabis Club of Beverly Hills.
- ”Strange Medicine“ – Dr. Juan Rivera travels to California to explore the benefits of medical marijuana. He meets with patients who have thrown away conventional painkillers in favor of this controversial cure for a multitude of illnesses, including cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, epilepsy, and other conditions.
- ”No, You Shut Up!“ – In this special edition of “No, You Shut Up!” host Paul F. Tompkins and the panel discuss the many issues surrounding the legalization of pot. The episode features a special guest - comedian Doug Benson.
- ”Reefer Madness“ – Cautionary tale features a fictionalized and highly exaggerated take on the use of marijuana. A trio of drug dealers lead innocent teenagers to become addicted to "reefer” cigarettes by holding wild parties with jazz music.
