Microsoft to Sponsor Fusion’s “Soccer Gods” Primetime World Cup Coverage
Fusion today announced Microsoft will sponsor the network’s “Soccer Gods” broadcast during the World Cup. The Microsoft Surface will be an integral part of the “The Soccer Gods: Brazil 2014” daily broadcast.
Microsoft is helping to give Fusion viewers a front row seat to the most exciting coverage of what happens on and off the field throughout the 2014 World Cup. Hosts Simon Carr and Nando Vila will use the Microsoft Surface to showcase the infectious sights, rhythms and parties happening across Brazil during this coming together of culture and sport. They will also use the Surface to interact with fans via social media using the @SoccerGods Twitter account and hashtag #BrazilLive.
“The Soccer Gods” will anchor Fusion’s primetime coverage of the World Cup which began last night, June 11 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) and is continuing for every night of the tournament. Nando Vila and Simon Carr will deliver their unique, irreverent, nuanced perspective on the world of soccer live from the heart of the action – Copacabana Beach.
The one-hour show will feature a distinctive recap of the day’s matches, reaction from ESPN’s powerhouse team of experts, celebrity guests, as well as nightly features on the culture and party atmosphere in Brazil, plus reports from wherever the news breaks throughout the tournament. “The Soccer Gods” will be live-streamed each night on Fusion.net’s desktop and mobile platforms.
