Fusion Launches Monday, October 28 at 6:57 p.m., ET
Fusion – the news, pop-culture and satire TV and digital network from ABC and Univision launching October 28 – today announced details about its nightly sports comedy program “Sports Talkers,” which will air weeknights at 9:00 p.m., ET.
“Sports Talkers” is an outrageous half-hour that shares our national obsession with professional sports and takes sports commentary to the next level. Hosted in a tricked-out suburban basement by three members of the acclaimed comedy troupe the Harvard Sailing Team – Rebecca Delgado Smith, Adam Lustick, and Billy Scafuri – “Sports Talkers” will weave together elements of talk radio, late night comedy, and improv performance into a moth-balled quilt that begins with sports and ends with “Talkers.”
“By simply inserting a space, we’ve turned a group of dangerous sportstalkers into delightful sports talkers. Whether you love sports or really love sports, ‘Sports Talkers’ is the show for you,” said Billy Kimball, Chief Programming Officer for Fusion.
“This show will do for talking about sports what talking about sports has done for sports,” said David Javerbaum, who is overseeing content for Fusion’s nightly block of satire programming and developing the next generation of comedy for the network. Javerbaum is a 12-time Emmy Award-winner and former Executive Producer and Head Writer for “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
