The One-Hour Investigative Documentary Reported by Mariana van Zeller Premieres Sunday @ 8PM 

Extremism is spreading in Europe, manifesting itself over the past year in the tragic terrorist attacks on Paris and this week’s deadly bombing in Brussels. Travel with FUSION’s Mariana van Zeller to the European neighborhoods that have become breeding grounds for radicals as she gets up close and personal with extremists on all sides – from porn stars and rappers turned white nationalists, to young Muslims fighting to create a caliphate in Europe. For the special, Mariana van Zeller sat down for an interview with Michael Delefortrie, a former Belgian altar boy who traveled to Syria to join ISIS. Delefortrie has since returned to Belgium. “My dream is to live underneath an Islamic caliphate, underneath Islamic Law. That’s my dream,” he told FUSION just weeks before the Brussels attacks. 

“It is incredibly frustrating and depressing to see what is happening to the continent where I grew up,” said Mariana van Zeller. “We are seeing the rise of right wing groups and racist rhetoric on one side and the radicalization of young people on the other. I wanted to go to Europe to find out how and why this is happening – and what this may tell us about what is going on in America today.”
